Promotional CDROM

Ember were approached by Colston Hall to produce a multimedia CDROM promoting their new 20 million pound foyer development.

Working to a tight deadline we successfully designed and built an application containing event listings, video, podcast and brochure downloads.

We were able to quickly familiarise ourselves with brand guidelines, maintaining style continuity and mirroring the Colston Hall website.

Essilor

Interactive Product Catalogue

Essilor manufacturer and distribute corrective lenses worldwide. They are most famous for the Varilux lens, the worlds first varifocal and are the world leaders in ophthalmic products.

Ember were contracted to produce an interactive product catalogue, which could be sent to opticians on CD. We created a system in which the user could easily browse pages of Essilors printed brochures within an intuitive Flash interface. We later created a more cost effective online version which also collects user statistics. Taking it one step further we are now creating a dynamic content management system which enables Essilor to update and publish there own releases of the application.

Bristol Museum & Art Gallery

Gallery Touchscreen

Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery required a touchscreen application which would enable visitors to make connections between their own lives and art in an exhibition called 'Work, Rest and Play'.

This easy-to-use and robust touchscreen contains information on paintings by artists such as Monet and Gainsborough accompanied by short videos and audio clips featuring members of the public and their reaction to the works.

Escapism

GUI Design and Consultancy

Escapism already had an award winning point of sale kiosk prototype and a contract to place 200 screens aboard a P&O cruise ship and within various other leisure environments. Amongst other things the system enabled users to order food and drinks, watch videos, play games and send messages.

Ember were asked to join the entrepreneurs as GUI consultants and designers. We stripped down and re-organised the information architecture and created an attractive and intuitive interface. Delivering a solution which their developers could efficiently implement.

WDA Departure Board

Event Scheduler

Ember were asked to design and develop information points displaying seminar and activity schedules for the Welsh Development Agency trade conference.

We created dynamic applications in the style of airport departure boards. These were displayed around the conference on 42" plasma screen. Synchronised to a changing schedule, notifying guests when seminars were 'boarding' or had 'closed'. The screens were realistically animated featuring rotating Welsh and English information.
