Ember were approached by Colston Hall to produce a multimedia CDROM promoting their new £20m foyer development.
Working to a tight deadline we successfully designed and built an application containing event listings, video, podcast and brochure downloads.
We were able to quickly familiarise ourselves with brand guidelines, maintaining style continuity and mirroring the Colston Hall website.

Atradius DVD
Video Edit and DVD Menu
Ember were contracted to produce a promotional DVD for Atradius, a corporate credit management company. This included editing video footage, mixing audio, adding animated titles graphics, creating a user interface and authoring the final DVD.
The video contains golfing tips and tricks featuring champion Paul Barrington. The DVD is a guide to improve your game whilst delivering the Atradius corporate message.

Essilor
Interactive Product Catalogue
Essilor manufacturer and distribute corrective lenses worldwide. They are most famous for the Varilux lens, the worlds first varifocal and are the world leaders in ophthalmic products.
Ember were contracted to produce an interactive product catalogue, which could be sent to opticians on CD. We created a system in which the user could easily browse pages of Essilors printed brochures within an intuitive Flash interface. We later created a more cost effective online version which also collects user statistics. Taking it one step further we are now creating a dynamic content management system which enables Essilor to update and publish there own releases of the application.

Bristol Museum & Art Gallery
Gallery Touchscreen
Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery required a touchscreen application which would enable visitors to make connections between their own lives and art in an exhibition called ‘Work, Rest and Play.
This easy-to-use and robust touchscreen contains information on paintings by artists such as Monet and Gainsborough accompanied by short videos and audio clips featuring members of the public and their reaction to the works.

Escapism
GUI Design and Consultancy
Escapism already had an award winning point of sale kiosk prototype and a contract to place 200 screens aboard a P&O cruise ship and within various other leisure environments. Amongst other things the system enabled users to order food and drinks, watch videos, play games and send messages.
Ember were asked to join the entrepreneurs as GUI consultants and designers. We stripped down and re-organised the information architecture and created an attractive and intuitive interface. Delivering a solution which their developers could efficiently implement.

Welsh Development Agency Event
Multimedia Touchscreen
For the third year running Ember were commissioned to design and develop a range of touchscreens to promote the WDA and their assistance of new Welsh Business.
Following on from the success of the previous years applications we created an eye catching interface providing access to a number of short videos. We also included an animated 'screensaver' feature to the touchscreen, advertising exhibition participants when the touchscreen wasn't in use.

Event Scheduler
Ember were asked to design and develop information points displaying seminar and activity schedules for the Welsh Development Agency trade conference.
We created dynamic applications in the style of airport departure boards. These were displayed around the conference on 42" plasma screen. Synchronised to a changing schedule, notifying guests when seminars were 'boarding' or had 'closed'. The screens were realistically animated featuring rotating Welsh and English information.

GCHQ
Accessible Multimedia CDROM
Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) is an intelligence and security organisation, working closely with MI5 and MI6.
Ember were employed to produce a promotional CDROM aimed at university leavers that not only informed potential candidates but also acted as an assessment tool. The multimedia application had to be accessible by all so included optional audible navigation and content, video subtitles and content resizing. We also integrated a range of spooks-esque games.

Hornby
Point Of Sale Touchscreen
Ember worked with Bristol based agency Theta to produce this interactive point of sale kiosk for Hornby and Scalectrix. Customers easily browse a full catalogue of latest products, watch promotional videos and get all the latest news and events.
The touchscreen was installed in London's Hamleys toy store and had a dramatic effect increasing in-store sales by 40%.
